Ferntree Hostel is a AAA 3.5 star rating and is situated in the heart of Cape Tribulation, surrounded by lush Daintree rainforest and offers a tranquil base to relax and explore.
The hostel offers a mix of accommodation with private and dorm share cabins each with their own private balcony, ensuite bathroom, mini-fridges, security locks and air-conditioning.

Enjoy Breakfast and dinner at the Cassowary Café in Ferntree Rainforest Lodge (next door).
A fully equiped communal kitchen is available within the hostel along with an outdoor barbeque area. A cutlery pack is available for hire at reception ($20 refundable deposit). Travellers are also able to utilise Ferntree Lodge's Cassowary Cafe.
Alternatively, the communal kitchen features a refrigerator, freezer, urn for boiling hot water, communal cooking equipment (pots & pans), and cookers. Cutlery and crockery is available with a refundable deposit. Continental breakfast boxes are available at an extra charge.
Other activities include rainforest day and night tours, check out the Great Barrier Reef with an Ocean Safari reef tour (only 25 minutes to reef); explore the Dubiji boardwalk, famous Cape Tribulation Beach lookout and a plethora of hiking trails.
Location:
Ferntree Hostel is located approximately 140 km north of Cairns (2.5 hours drive). Camelot Close is on the left as you drive into the Cape Tribulation Village precinct.
A cash payment is required for self-drive guests to use the Daintree River Ferry (approx $22.00 return).
Just a short walk from Ferntree Hostel you'll find the local 'village' consisting of a shop, chemist and bar.

- There is no mobile phone coverage in area.
- Ferntree Hostel is run on generator power.
