Nestled at the base of Thornton's Peak, inside cassowary territory you will experience the true feeling of Cape Tribulation.

Tropical palms, giant rainforest trees from which hang huge epiphyte basket ferns, staghorns and birds' nests, surround the Lodge. Over 2,000 species of plants grow within the surrounds.

Deep Forest Lodge is part of the corridor that Cassowaries use to travel from Thornton's Peak to the coastal flats. Some come regularly, others occasionally depending upon the trees in fruit.

There are 2 Studios and 1 Family apartment on the property. All apartments are ground level and self-contained. Barbecues are located on the verandahs. It is best to buy your personal items and groceries in Mossman.

There is a variety of local dining venues for you to choose from nearby, offering anything from a burger or crocodile steak to a candlelit dinner and a-la-carte dining.

Deep Forest Lodge runs on renewable energy generated by sun and water (hydro and solar electricity). The system provides 24-hour power. There is no mains power north of the Daintree River to Cape Tribulation. The Deep Forest Lodge does not have a restaurant or swimming pool. It is a small friendly family run property.
