Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa and it's lush rainforest valley, sustained no physical damage during Cyclone Yasi, however due to prolonged loss of electricity and services the Lodge & Spa is now not able to be open for business.
The electricity supply company has not confirmed when the supply will be restored as they are dealing with larger populated areas and essential services as first priorities.
We believe we will be fully operational again during the month of February.
Once power has been restored and all essential onsite infrastructure is fully operational, management and staff will contact you with the announcement that Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is re-opened.
As our office is now operating remotely, we encourage you to continue to make contact with us for all enquiries and advance bookings, as ultimately we want to be able to provide our unique experiences for your clients as soon as possible.
We are sure you appreciate our unfortunate situation as a small Australian owned and operated business and we sincerely thank you for your patience and your support.

Tropical Cyclone Yasi had the world spellbound and watching the supreme power of nature!
It is a wonderful to be announcing that Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa did not suffer any damage. With power expected to be back on soon (perhaps as early as tomorrow) it is business as usual.
Our hearts go out to all fellow Queenslanders who were not so lucky.
So, the emotions of great relief and thankfulness are certinaly high in our circle of friends, family, work mates and all people connected to our families and the Lodge.
The unique location of the Lodge, nestling into its very special rainforest valley has proved again to be an incredibly safe haven. The valley adorned with ancient plants (some pre-Jurassic and Triassic eras), an abundance of birds and wildife (some rare and endangered) has weathered many facets of nature over millions of years.
The relief this morning and the overwhelming number of caring messages, social networking messages and sentiments of well wishes from literally all around the globe has everyone assoicated with the Lodge feeling very humbled and lucky.
Thank you from Terry, Cathy, family and team

Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa was chosen to be part of this once in a lifetime experience.
Tune in to be part of the 90 million audience in 145 countires with episodes showing in America 18 - 21 Jan and in Australia 19 - 21 and Sunday 23 on Channel 10 at 7.30pm.
The episodes will be jam-packed as 700 hours of filming is to be condensed to 4 one hour shows. To date, no announcements of which of the 179 Australian tourism partners will be featured.
Whilst the TV shows are very important it is amazing to think the on-ine audience for the promotions will ultimately dwarf the number of TV viewers. It has been confirmed Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa will feature on the Oprah website which receives 59 million hits per month.

This is yesterday - and today is even better! The view is towards the mouth of the Daintree River. It is a warm, balmy, tropical 31 degrees - contrary to media reports of dismal weather, endless rain and flooding.
Daintree and tropical north Queensland region is the "best place to be on the east coast of Australia next week" according to the Bureau of Meteorolgy.
Flooded areas of Rockhampton and Bundaburg region are more than 1,000 kilomtres south of Daintree. Contrary to media reports.
So, it is business as usual... the weather is conducive to relaxing, taking time out and being in awe of the rainforest in its glory, listening to the cascading waterfall and babbling stream , with some serious rejuvenating and pampering spa and wellbeing treatments, savouring the delicious meals and taking some precious time out in preparation for the year ahead.

Outclassing entries from Kenya, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Mozambique and Malaysia, North Queensland’s Daintree Eco Lodge and Spa has won the title of World’s Best Eco Lodge at the 2009 World Travel Awards.
Announced in London over the weekend, the Queensland business also took out the award for Australasia’s Leading Green Hotel.
Tourism Minister Peter Lawlor says the award wins are a stunning result for the Tropical North Queensland property.
"The World Travel Awards are described by the Wall Street Journal as the 'Oscars' of the global travel and tourism industry," Lawlor says.
"The win follows a vote by 183,000 travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organisations in more than 160 countries across the globe,” he says.
This latest accolade follows the lodge’s win in the 2009 SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Awards, where it beat out 15,000 competitors to take out World’s Best Environmental Spa and World’s Best Boutique Spa categories.
According to Lawlor, Daintree Eco Lodge’s string of prestigious awards is helping to raise awareness of Queensland and boost the State’s tourism.
"Tourism Queensland markets four distinct themes which capture a range of Queensland tourism experiences and destinations: 'islands and beaches', 'natural encounters', 'adventure' and 'Queensland lifestyle'," he says.
"As part of this approach, Tourism Queensland in part focuses on eco and Indigenous tourism experiences directly through a range of PR, marketing and development activities and works with tourism operators throughout the state, including Daintree Eco Lodge and Spa."

Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa, in tropical north Queensland, has just been voted Australia’ s Best Spa and Health Retreat Experience.

Earlier this month Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa added to it’s World Recognition when named by Tatler UK in the World’s Best 101 Spas.
