Wait a While in the Daintree is a stunning pole framed timber house offering private and secluded accommodation for up to 6 guests right in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest, and only 600 metres from the picturesque Cow Bay Beach.  Restaurants and cafes are within easy driving distance. 

The Daintree-Cape Tribulation region lays claim to being the only spot on the planet where two World Heritage areas meet - The Great Barrier Reef and the North Queensland Wet Tropics. Wait a While offers the perfect place to relax and enjoy both of these special World Heritage areas.

Wait-a-While In The Daintree is situated just one hour from the internationally recognised resort town of Port Douglas, and is the ideal getaway offering seclusion and a true taste of the tropics.

The House:
The pole house is one of the largest single dwellings ever constructed in the Daintree Rainforest.  Completed in 1993 and modelled on a traditional New Guinean long-house Wait-a-While Daintree provides almost 500 square metres of living space.

Bedding configuration:
3 bedrooms with 2 x king beds, 2 x king single beds plus a pull out king trundle. Upstairs on the mezzanine level there is a double bed. There are two bathrooms with baths and a third with shower by the pool. The house can sleep 9 people comfortably however the owners limit it to 6 people only.

Getting There:
Wait-a-While in the Daintree is only one hour's drive north of Port Douglas, and two hours north of Cairns. Head north along the Captain Cook Highway, through the township of Mossman and then take the turn off to the Daintree River Ferry which is well signposted.

Wait-a-While In The Daintree is about 30 minutes drive north of the Daintree River. You cross the Alexandra Range and come into the small settlement of Cow Bay.

Take the turn off to Cow Bay Beach, which is signposted as Buchanan Creek Road. Follow this road until the bitumen road becomes gravel. Then it is only one more kilometre - Wait-a-while is signposted on the left.
