Bedding Configuration:

The house has three bedrooms - two queens and one twin (can be made into a double). It has three bathrooms, a living room, TV room, spacious kitchen/dining room and large verandas. Downstairs there is a bathroom, laundry and large lock up garage.

The word Janbal is the word our local indigenous community, 'Kuku Yalangi" has for the tree elaecorapus angustafolius or the Blue Quandong. The house was built in the mid 1990s. It was designed by local architect John Ewen-Smith and to this day is one of his favourite houses.

Janbal rests on 27 acres of untouched pristine wilderness and is one of the larger blocks remaining south of the Daintree. Located just 15 mins north of Mossman and 30 minutes from Port Douglas Village.

A short or long stay will give you an understanding and awareness of this precious eco-system, its beauty and challenges.

Please note: Janbal is not recommended for children under 12 years.

Things to do:

Just round the corner up the magnificent Whyanbeel valley there are a couple of great eating places, Hoglund Art Glass and High Falls Farm, a tropical fruit orchard and restaurant perched out over the Whyanbeel Creek.

The mighty Daintree River is only 20 minutes drive north where you can enjoy the many cruises available or take advantage of local experience and fish this spectacular waterway and see the huge crocodiles basking in the winters sun.
