A day with Daintree Discovery Tours is like no other. Be a part of a small group of 8 maximum, involving adventure, no crowds and experienced interpretive guides.

What makes it Great?

  • Maximum 8 passenger
  • Luxury Vehicle
  • Visit Unique Attractions
  • Optional Sea Kayaking
  • $1 per person is donated towards the Daintree Buy Back & Protect Forever Project

Your adventure will begin with a pick up from your Port Douglas accommodation at 7.45am. Travelling in a luxury Mercedes Benz Vito Van, enjoy plenty of leg room and air conditioning for every person.

From here journey through passing Cane Fields and the township of Mossman to the Daintree River, where you will cross the ferry and enter the Daintree National Park area.  Enjoy morning tea and lamingtons looking out over the Coral Sea.

Following this you can choose between:

  • Sea Kayaking around the Cape Tribulation headland, following in the steps of our early explorers, possibly spotting turtles, dugong or even a pod of dolphins. No experience is necessary for the sea kayaking, a qualified guide will go through the finer details.
  • Taking a guided walk along the beach learning about the history of the area.

Simply sit and soak up the absorbing atmosphere of this tropical beach, with time to swim in non-stinger season. (June to October)

After a stop off at Cape Tribulation, travel down to Cooper Creek Wilderness for a unique opportunity to explore world heritage listed rainforest. Walk through old growth rainforest on natural trails - no boardwalks. See no other people along the way, except maybe spotting a Cassowary, or any other forest creatures that inhabit the area, you just never know...

Enjoy a sumptuous lunch under the rainforest canopy on a large ceder table, then cool off in the beautiful blue waters of the Cooper Creek. (Please advise if you have any dietry requirements)

Following Cooper Creek take a visit to the Daintree Ice Cream Company where you can experience flavours from the fruit in season that grows in their orchard. Try mamey-sapote, coconut, mango or even wattle seed.

End the day on the mighty Daintree River on board Solar Whisper a solar powered electric boat. It makes no noise, no fuel emissions and helps to protect the environment from which it runs on.

Your guide will explain the complexities of the river system, and point out the wildlife, which may include crocodiles, snakes, frogs, bats and the many birds that make their home along this river. The boat is equipped with an on board video camera and monitor for up - and close viewing of the wildlife.

Plenty of time is available at all of these destinations to really appreciate the atmosphere and importance of this World Heritage area.

Grant your local guide treats each day, as taking out a group of friends. Explaining to our guests how the nature of the area works, so that at the end of the day it is easy to look around and understand what is happening around you.

After your journey you will be returned to your accommodation at approx. 5.30pm.
