- Return transfers from Cape Tribulation accommodation
- Morning and afternoon sessions available
Included in your day:
- Transfer from your accommodation in Cape Tribulation
- Safety helmet
- Instruction and guide
- 2 hour ride for beginner riders
- 3 hour ride intermediate and experienced riders
You will be collected from your resort reception and taken to the stables, where you will be given a horse to suit your riding ability and brief instructions for the ride.
Beginner Riders:
Beginners get to ride where the rainforest meets the beach! The stables are located back from the beach, so beginner riders will get the opportunity to trot through cane paddocks, rainforest, a few stream crossing and then on to the beach. You will ride to the amazing Myall Beach where you slow gallop your horse along one of the most pristine beaches in Cape Tribulation. Please note this is a 2 hour tour so no morning/afternoon tea and swimming are included.
Intermediate & Experienced Riders:
Intermediate and experienced riders enjoy the breathtaking Cape Tribulation scenery as you meander your way through the oldest living rainforest in the world, ride through many crystal clear mountain streams, through cane paddocks and along crocodile inhabited riverbeds until you reach the spectacular Cape Tribulation Beach. There are only very limited places in the world where you can stroll along the beach on horseback, soaking up the atmosphere of the wild and pristine beaches of Cape Tribulation. On the way back towards the forest, you will stop at a beautiful fresh water swimming hole for a pleasant dip and refreshments and then on to the stables via a rainforest track. (Please note during poor weather conditions, refreshments will be served at the stables after the ride has finished). There are opportunities for experienced riders only to trot and canter the horses. Spectacular scenery and the thrill of horse riding make this a especially enjoyable activity. The Ride, including the transfers, lasts for approximately 3 hours. Please note this tour will commence from 1 April 2012.
There are ample opportunities to have photos taken with your horse so don't forget to bring your camera!
What to wear:
Long pants may offer more protection than shorts but this is not essential. Swimwear should be worn under clothing and you are able to take a towel and camera. Closed, secure footwear such as joggers or boots are essential. Definitely no thongs or bare feet. There are some shoes available at the stables if you do not have suitable footwear.
