Sit back and enjoy the commentary on this spectacular Daintree River Cruise.  Bring your camera and join Andy for a personalised 2 hour Sunset or Sunrise Cruise on the stunning Daintree River.  

Take in the wild beauty of the Daintree Rainforest from the spectacular and tranquil Daintree River. 

Ideal for photographers!  This boat is specifically designed to give greater stability for camera work, has well-padded, swivel seats for just 8-10 passengers and a versatile retractable roof, catering for all weather conditions.  Morning and evening departures are timed to coincide with peak bird activity and to give the photographers the best light.

Daintree River Experience cruises are longer than most - 2hrs - allowing time to explore one or more of the Daintree River's beautiful tributaries to maximize your chances of seeing the more elusive species.

Sunset Cruise:After a busy day touring or exploring the rainforest, what better way to relax than to sit back in a comfortable seat and let your guide take you where neither feet nor car can go, pointing out wildlife for you to photograph if you wish.  Ask questions, learn about the plants, the birds, the crocodiles or the history of the Daintree area. Or just sit back and enjoy a complimentary drink while you catch the last of the day over the beautiful Daintree landscape.

On our 2 hour Sunset cruise in late September we were very impressed.  We were lucky enough to see Scar Face, Fang and 2 little hatchlings.  We also saw many birds including the Azure Kingfisher, Little Kingfisher, Forest Kingfisher, Spangled Drongo, Pied Imperial Pigeons (previously known as the Torres Straight Pigeon), Green Oriole and many Cattle Egret's all coming to roost on Sunset.  We also saw some rare native orchids including the Bottlebrush orchid and the Buttercup orchid as well as the Jewel fern.  We learned about Wait-a-While vine and rattan as well as the Matchbox Bean and Candlenut.  The twirling bark River Gums in Barrett Creek were spectacular! 

Sunrise Cruise:
This is a more specific birdwatching cruise.  Get up with the birds and experience the peace and coolness of the early morning on our Sunrise Cruise.  Inhale the freshness of the rainforest in the rising mist, see the wildlife warming up, getting moving, starting to feed and hear the birds.

Witness perfect reflections in the river and its tributaries and make the most of the soft light for stunning photographs.  A great way to start the day!

Location:
Daintree River Experience is located at the Daintree River Jetty, 8km before Daintree Village, make the turn for the Daintree River Ferry off the Highway as you head north.  Cruises can also be arranged from Daintree Village by appointment.

Tours operate in all seasons and offer you the chance to sit back and relax in the comfort of your own Daintree River cruise tailor-made for any occasion.
