Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours are unique rainforest tours where your feet don’t touch the ground. Fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at 5 tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef.

Safe, fun, fully guided and with no experience necessary - an adventure activity for all ages.

ABOUT THE TOUR:
On arrival at the harnessing centre, you’ll meet your team of two to five guides who’ll be taking you surfing through the jungle. Each guest will be fitted into a full body harness and helmet.

A 250m walk through the forest leads to the Exit platform, where you’ll be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor and being winched one by one up to Platform 1. Jungle Surfing uses no motors and your ascent to the first platform is completely man powered!

On each platform, a guide will greet you, connect you safely to the tree, and introduce you to different elements of the forest before sending you on your way to the next platform.

From Platform 1 to 2 and from Platform 2 to 3, you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides completely control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or just take in the views. Midway between Platforms 2 and 3, you’ll stop briefly at the highest point of the tour, 23 metres above Mason Creek. If you’re lucky, and visit during wet season, this creek will be a raging torrent of white water.

From Platform 3 to 4, in a beautiful section of old-growth rainforest, you’ll fly solo and fast back across the creek. Don’t forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!

Your final flight from Platform 4 to 5 is an opportunity for thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so, you can flip yourself upsidedown and watch the ground beneath you speed past.

From Platform 5, there is a short walk back to the harnessing centre where you’ll have a brief opportunity to buy Jungle Surfing t-shirts, souvenirs and drinks before departing the property.

The tour itself takes around 1.5-2 hours from pick-up to drop off, and you’ll spend around 1-1.25 hours up in the trees, with plenty of time on each platform to experience the forest environment.

DEPARTURES:
Jungle Surfing tours depart Mason’s Cape Trib Store & Café, 3781 Cape Tribulation Road at 7:45am, 8:45am, 9:45am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm every day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Courtesy transfers from all accommodation in Cape Tribulation are included.
Self drivers should meet at Mason’s Cape Trib Store & Cafe five minutes before the pick up time.

Jungle Surfing Restrictions
* Jungle Surfing is unable to accommodate persons weighing more than 120kg (260lbs or 18 stone 12lbs).
* The tour is not suitable for pregnant women.
* All persons under 18 years must have our Medical Declaration and Waiver Release form signed by a parent or adult guardian prior to commencement of the tour.
* Jungle Surfing does not require any previous experience or physical strength, but if you are concerned about a medical condition, please contact us prior to booking.
* Suitable for all ages from 3 years upwards.
* This tour does need to be pre-booked as only 13 people can participate in each tour.

What to bring: Don’t forget your camera. – there are stunning views from the platforms and the guides will take pictures for you during the ride. Long shorts or trousers are most comfortable, skirts are not suitable. Enclosed footwear is advisable as thongs or slip-ons may fall from your
feet during the ride and therefore have to be taped on!

Tour Combo
You can combine the Jungle Surfing with the Nightwalk and save! Picking up from your Cape Tribulation accommodation at 7.30pm. (duration of walk is 2 hours).
Nightwalks are not recommended for children under 8 years.
