THIS IS A MUST-DO!
Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours is a must-do, new and exciting way to view the World Heritage Listed Rainforest in Cape Tribulation.

This unique tour allows eco-tourists the chance to glide through the forest on steel cables high above the ground. Once this way of viewing the forest was only available to scientists, but now this experience is open for the public to enjoy.

The Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours operate within a large and private scientific nature reserve on Mount Walsh at Cape Tribulation. It is run by a group of biological scientists who have been providing scientists guided day and night walks through the old growth forest on the reserve for six years.

The tour includes accommodation transfers from Cape Tribulation or transport to the reserve from the Pharmacy at Cape Tribulation, an interpretative walk through the forest floor to the surfing location, and the canopy surfing.

Canopy surfing takes place up in the treetops, with five platforms linked by steel flying fox runs. The longest span is over 75m and the platforms vary in height from 2.5 - 19.5m above the ground. Each participant is attached by full body harness to the flying fox cables. At the highest point you fly over 22m above Mason Creek, and the flight choice is yours - slow, fast or upsidedown.

Photographers will especially enjoy the spectacular panoramas over the extensive rainforest canopy out to the azure Coral Sea, many of the regions fringing reefs and sand cays are visible. Wonder at the many levels of this ancient rainforest on viewing platforms high in the towering trees.

At each platform Jungle Adventures Guide will explain your surroundings. The Jungle Adventures guide will also introduce you to some of the animals that live in the rainforest. Up in the canopy you might come across the green tree ant. Bizarre as it sounds, you can lick them and get a lemony taste full of vitamin C, or even make tea with them. Down on the forest floor there are all sorts of animals - you may even meet a python sunning itself after a meal.

Jungle Adventures run Jungle Canopy Surfing Tours daily. This price includes transport to the location from the Cape Tribulation Pharmacy, and a rainforest ecology walk. The canopy surfing experience lasts around 1.5 - 2 hours.

You can combine the Jungle Surfing with the Nightwalk and save! The Nightwalk picks up from your Cape Tribulation accommodation at 7.30pm (duration of walk is 2 hours)

Whilst your adventurous spirit and dreams are fulfilled, your comfort and safety is paramount. All construction and equipment meet the highest standards, and all platforms are manned by highly trained climbing and abseiling masters.

Age Restriction: Children 3 years and older can do the Jungle Surfing. Harness available to suit kids aged 3 up to adults weighing 120kg.

Features:
Certified Instructors, Experienced Guides, Exceptional Safety Standards.

Getting There:
This is a self drive tour. Conventional vehicles can visit Cape Tribulation as the roads are sealed. You will need to make your way to the Cape Tribulation Pharmacy which is a 1 hour drive from the Northern side of the Daintree River. The ferries depart regularly but it is best to leave Port Douglas early as sometimes there are long waits at the ferry.

Tours times are 7:45am, 8:45am, 9:45am, 10:45am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm & 3:30pm daily. Including the transfers you can expect to be back at the pharmacy just under 2 hours later. This tour does need to be pre-booked as only 12 people can participate in each tour.
