The Daintree rainforest is 135 million years old and home to the spiritual ancestors of the Kuku Yalanji tribe - rainforest Aboriginal people who named this place 'Wawu-karrba'- healing of the spirit. Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal Cultural Guides will take you on activities that are based on interpretation, education and experiential learning.

Rainforest Walk:
The property was occupied by forefathers of the Kuku Yalanji people and used as a resting place as it provided spring water, an abundance of edible and medicinal plants, fauna, bathing holes, protection from harsh weather conditions and is adjacent to the majestic Daintree River.

Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa's Aboriginal guides couple this cultural information with botanical and wildlife information on an Indigenous Guided Rainforest Walk to special places with healing powers significant to women, highlighting bush medicines and foods, traditional life and history. Guides also share their personal stories with you.

Lunch:
Enjoy lunch with a twist at Julaymba Restaurant & Gallery. The restaurant takes it’s name, Julaymba, from the local Kuku Yalanji word for “Daintree River”, which is the area we are located and a place visited for thousands of years by the Indigenous people of the region.

With it's balcony terrace, Julaymba overlooks the peaceful fresh water lagoon and is accessible via elevated boardwalks through the lush rainforest. It is uniquely crafted to compliment the rainforest setting and capture the serenity of the fresh water stream flowing beneath. Authentic Aboriginal artefacts and original artworks are on display in the Art Gallery.

With nature integrated into every aspect of the resort, native ingredients, some collected on the property, are used to create sensational signature meals and featuring light and healthy spa cuisine for the guest who enjoys delicious meals in line with good health and wellness. The menu incorporates an abundance of unique and exotic sundrenched Queensland fruits, tropical reef fish and local produce with native and Indigenous nuts, berries, flowers, leaves and seeds.

Spa Treatment:
The Daintree Spa is a body, mind and soul experience where you will take away a lasting sense of wellbeing. In consultation with a spa therapist, select a 60 minute spa treatment of your choice. Treatments are carefully designed and selected in-line with the Daintree Spa philosophy. With the approval of the Kuku Yalanji elders, the Daintree Eco Lodge spa treatments integrate the wisdom of ancient cultures, medicines, spirituality and healing.

The organic rainforest skincare is the only skincare range that uses wild, native and natural ingredients from the Daintree Rainforest and Daintree spring water. Powerful natural healing properties of the rainforest and native plants, certified organic oils, nuts, seeds, superfine ochres and knowledge from the local Aboriginal people create the range.

Aboriginal Culture is preserved and not compromised in our tourism operations, our Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal Cultural Guides will take you on activities that are based on interpretation, education and experiential learning.

12:00pm - Lunch at Julaymba Restaurant & Gallery
14:30pm - Spa Treatment
15:30pm - Depart Daintree Eco Lodge and Spa
