Their experienced local guides will give you time to see, touch, smell and even taste the Far North Queensland rainforest. On your tour they will provide amazing information and answer your questions about the tropical rainforest plants and trees, birds, insects, frogs, forest dragons, snakes and crocodiles, to give you a unique wilderness experience and unforgettable memories.
The Full Day Cooktown 4WD Safari goes off-road to Cooktown via the famous Bloomfield Track .Well known since Council Bulldozers pushed it through the Daintree Rainforest in spite of protesters in 1983, the Bloomfield Track starts just north of Cape Tribulation, which is 36 kilometres north of the Daintree River
The four wheel driving ranges from extreme to easy, depending on the season. Mason's Tours carry extensive safety and recovery equipment, and all drivers have completed nationally accredited 4WD Training and First Aid Courses. The modern Toyota Landcruisers are air conditioned and fully equipped to handle the rugged off road conditions experienced on the famous Bloomfield Track. The track continues for 32 kilometres through some rugged terrain to the Bloomfield River, and from there the tour continues through the aboriginal town of Wujal Wujal and on through Bloomfield. You pass through the Cedar Bay National Park, Rossville and Helensvale before noon arrival in Cooktown.
Cooktown is a beautiful town, unspoiled by mass tourism, and rich in exciting history, both Aboriginal and European. You will have at least two hours in Cooktown - road conditions are usually the deciding factor. Cooktown is friendly to the walker, with most places being easily reached by foot. Your guide will be happy to drop you off at the more distant spots like Nature's Powerhouse should you wish to visit.
Your guide also carries a number of publications about the history of Cooktown and these can be used as reference for those who have particular historical interest. 'Pubs and Publicans of Cooktown' is always popular!
